Scope and Contents
This collection consists of photographs, negatives, pencil drawings, and other images related to Dr. Oscar Batson's work. It was donated to the Mütter Museum by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Batson, along with numerous medical instruments and pathological specimens. The collection of photographs was transferred to the Library on September 22, 2016.

This small collection of Otto Rosenthal's papers contains professional
and personal correspondence with colleagues and co workers during
his years at the Harrison Department of Surgical Research and
his work with alkaline phosphatase and cytochrome P 450. Many
of the major correspondents, including Jonathan E. Rhoads, William
S. Blakemore, Shakunthala Narasimhulu, David Y. Cooper, and
Ronald W. Estabrook, were members of the Harrison Department.

Otto Scheller was born in Bohemia/Czechoslovaka/Austria on 29 June 1881, and immigrated to the United States in 1911. On 14 December 1928, he was admitted to Philadelphia State Hospital (locally known as "Byberry") against his wishes. Paul Esnard Bechet was born July 28, 1881 and died January 3, 1962. In 1903, he received his medical degree from Tulane University. Early in his career, Bechet assisted during the yellow fever epidemic of 1905 in New Orleans. From 1909 to 1934, Bechet worked at the New York Skin and Cancer Hospital as a clinical assistant, assistant physician, and physician.
