Series 1: Daybooks, 1855-1894
Scope and Contents
The collection contains eight daybooks, 1855-1894, and one ledger, 1872-1904, documenting the medical practice of Israel Parsons in Marcellus, New York, and surrounding Onondaga County. The daybooks list patients, services or prescriptions, and amount charged; occasional descriptions of cases are included. The final three volumes in the series have occasional marginal notes in shorthand. The ledger, organized by name of patient with references to pages in the corresponding daybooks, is primarily concerned with account reconcilation and settlement.
