Scope and Contents
The collection contains two account books, 1831-1873, documenting the medical practice of Dr. William Wilson Rutherford, 1805-1873, and, in part, Dr. A. T. Dean, d. 1834. Items found interleaved in the account books were removed and placed in folders. The first account book, 1831-1841 (Bulk 1832-1836), is most likely from the period when Dr. Rutherford practiced medicine with Dr. Dean in Mechanicsburg, Pa. The account book lists patients, services rendered and their cost, and payments made....
